(This devo is a continuation from the “Joshua Generation” message the Lord gave me and crossing the Jordan. This can be found on Youtube and the notes are on my website.)
Psalm 42:1-8 As the deer pants for the water brooks, So pants my soul for You, O God. My soul thirsts for God, for the living God. When shall I come and appear before God? My tears have been my food day and night, While they continually say to me, “Where is your God?” When I remember these things, I pour out my soul within me. For I used to go with the multitude; I went with them to the house of God, With the voice of joy and praise, With a multitude that kept a pilgrim feast. Why are you cast down, O my soul? And why are you disquieted within me? Hope in God, for I shall yet praise Him For the help of His countenance. O my God, my soul is cast down within me; Therefore I will remember You from the land of the Jordan, And from the heights of Hermon, From the Hill Mizar. Deep calls unto deep at the noise of Your waterfalls; All Your waves and billows have gone over me. The Lord will command His lovingkindness in the daytime, And in the night His song shall be with me— A prayer to the God of my life.
Jordan: Yahweh is Salvation, (Mt. Hermon overlooks the valley of the Jordan)
Hermon: Traditionally believed to be the place where Jesus transfigured, pointing us to the Glory of God!
Mizar: A small mountain, signifying His presence is with us in the journey, (can also be seen in the Jordan valley from Mt. Hermon).
My Vision - “From the Altar of Coals”:
Are you ready to cross the Jordan? Yesterday I sensed the Spirit focus my attention on the Oil of Joy. He told me to pray over different ones this Oil. I went up at our church in the evening and the Lord gave me a powerful vision while I was there. As I began to walk towards the altar, half way down the aisle I heard the Spirit say the word “Coals”. I knelt down at the altar to pray, and the presence of God began to come so strong on me, it was as if I was kneeling at an altar of coals and incense was rising, I could see the smoke rising. As I worshiped with the music I had playing, I then began to see a vision of Jesus who was holding my hand and He was tugging and pulling on my arm with great intensity. He was moving forward swiftly, as I went with Him we began to move out into deep deep waters! There was a brightness that was so beautiful and in His presence I began to laugh from deep within. Then I looked back from the direction we had come and I realized my other hand was reaching and grasping for my family and my worries and my burdens. In that moment I began to cry, this desire was really just so strong too, the struggle was very real, and my worries would almost overwhelm me, it pulled on me with such intensity like I was in a tug of war. Yet once again I looked back towards Jesus as He was still trying to take me deeper into the waters, when my gaze turned back to Jesus and I moved forward I would begin to laugh again and my burdens became so light like I didn’t carry them at all and His presence was so strong, I just wanted to go deeper and deeper. It went back and forth several times, this struggle, I was feeling the burdens that I carry, the weight and the worries, but when I looked at Jesus and followed Him and surrendered to His love the weight would begin to lift. There was a sense of just completely losing myself altogether when I followed Jesus, a sense of complete surrender and letting go, just completely out of control, swallowed up in Jesus and His presence, this incredible joy, peace, freedom and hydration!
Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you, learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light. Matthew 11:28-30
I realized in this moment just how much I have been worrying and carrying my burdens myself. I also realized as I surrender the most precious and dearest things that I treasure in my heart here on earth to Jesus He is assuring me that everything is going to be ok.
Can I trust Jesus as I am Baptized into the Jordan? Can I trust Him with my family? Can I trust Jesus with the most dearest things that I cling to here in the earthly realm? As He called for my surrender of the things that I love, He also called for my heart, an abandonment all consuming. Am I ready to say yes to His beckon? Are you ready to say yes to His beckon?
In my vision I was only not even knee deep yet! This signified to me the level of my surrender. I wrote a song called Baptize Me on one of my new albums, the lyric goes like this… I will fall into the deep, I heard the call, and I believe, I will respond not just knee deep, as you take me down, immerse me please! So this really speaks to me.
You will show me the path of life; In Your presence is fullness of joy; At Your right hand are pleasures forevermore. Psalm 16:11
Brothers and Sisters! Let us take Jesus’s hand and run into the waters!!! Dive right in! He is with us! He will never leave us or forsake us! Jesus wants us to surrender those things that burden and weigh down our hearts in this hour.
The Spirit is saying fear not loved ones fear not, for I am with you, leading you and guiding you through the Jordan to the Promised Land. Let Faith and the Presence be your central focus moving forward as I explained in the Joshua Generation message. Jesus will lift every burden and pour in the sustenance of the oil of Joy in this hour.
When you pass through the waters, I will be with you! Isaiah 43:2
At first I wasn’t sure what the word “coals” represented as I walked towards the altar, but in Isaiah 6 we see that there is an altar of coals in Heaven.
In the year that King Uzziah died, I saw the Lord sitting on a throne, high and lifted up, and the train of His robe filled the temple. Above it stood seraphim; each one had six wings: with two he covered his face, with two he covered his feet, and with two he flew. And one cried to another and said: “Holy, holy, holy is the Lord of hosts; The whole earth is full of His glory!” And the posts of the door were shaken by the voice of him who cried out, and the house was filled with smoke. So I said: “Woe is me, for I am undone! Because I am a man of unclean lips, And I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips; For my eyes have seen the King, The Lord of hosts.”Then one of the seraphim flew to me, having in his hand a live coal which he had taken with the tongs from the altar. And he touched my mouth with it, and said: “Behold, this has touched your lips; Your iniquity is taken away, And your sin purged.” Isaiah 6
The coals in this scripture without a doubt point to the righteousness of God. As we spend time in the presence of God at His altars the righteousness of God cleanses and purges us, convicts us and heals us. Spend time in His presence take the Lord’s hand, He will prepare you and walk with you through the Jordan!
