Sowing Unto Righteousness

The Lord gave me these words one day, "Sow for yourself Righteousness."

We sow our lives into many things in this day and age. Our time and attention is poured into many different areas of opportunity whether good or bad, healthy or unhealthy. On the upside we sow ourselves to our jobs and reap a harvest of provision. We sow time into our families and we surely reap what we have sown there, whether it be good or bad. Some have sown into the church, and I don't just mean giving of tithe, but some have sown their time and given their gifts to be used. Some sow their lives into the church by volunteering and through ministries of helps. We also sow our time and or money into many other things like the latest gadgets, media, movies, video games, for some hours are spent sown in front of screens completely consumed by the media overload. We will sow our time, our interests, our very lives… and we will reap a harvest according to what we have sown.

Sow for yourselves according to righteousness and right standing with God; Reap according to mercy and loving kindness. Break up your uncultivated ground, for it is time to seek the Lord, to require His favour, till He comes and teaches you righteousness and rains His righteous gift of salvation upon you.  Hosea 10:12 The question I want to stir up in your mind and heart today as you read this blog and cause you to pause and think is this, what are you sowing your life to? Most if not all of our sowing will knowingly have imminent implications and reaping. But there is a suttleness to some of our sowing that if we had known before hand we would not have sown there. This scripture above says, "break up your uncultivated ground." Suggesting that there is an action that we have to take. Shake things up, don't settle to just keep on keeping on, living the mundane. When you go to break up the dirt and plant seed in the ground for the first time it can be tough to take that uncultivated, hard soil and make it loose and usable for sowing the good seed. You gotta pull weeds and its tough work that you have to be committed to. The next time you sow seed it gets a little easier though because the ground has already been worked over. Have you heard of the expression "ground breaking?" Allow God to bring some ground breaking shake up to the soil in which you are sowing into! It is time to sow for yourself righteousness!

Here are some scriptures below to consider.

He personally bore our sins in His own body on the tree as on an altar and offered Himself on it, that we might die, cease to exist to sin and LIVE TO RIGHTEOUSNESS. By His wounds you have been healed. 1 Pet 2:24 I have always quoted this scripture for my healing, but here I want to point out… and LIVE TO RIGHTEOUSNESS! This scripture of healing seems contingent on living to righteousness.

And the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace of them that make peace. James 3:18 KJV

Peacemakers who sow in peace reap the fruit of righteousness.
 James 3:18

The effect of righteousness will be peace, internal and external, and the result of righteousness will be quietness and confident trust forever. Is 32:17

Do not be deceived, God is not mocked [He will not allow Himself to be ridiculed, nor treated with contempt nor allow His precepts to be scornfully set aside]; for whatever a man sows, this and this only is what he will reap. For the one who sows to his flesh [his sinful capacity, his worldliness, his disgraceful impulses] will reap from the flesh ruin and destruction, but the one who sows to the Spirit will from the Spirit reap eternal life. Let us not grow weary or become discouraged in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap, if we do not give in. So then, while we [as individual believers] have the opportunity, let us do good to all people [not only being helpful, but also doing that which promotes their spiritual well-being], and especially [be a blessing] to those of the household of faith (born-again believers). Galations 6:7-11

May you abound in and be filled with the fruits of righteousness of right standing with God and right doing which come through Jesus Christ the Anointed one, to the honour and praise of God, that His GLORY may be both MANIFESTED and RECOGNIZED. Philippians 1:11 SOWING UNTO RIGHTEOUSNESS WILL CAUSE US TO REAP A HARVEST OF THE GLORY OF GOD MANIFESTED AND RECOGNIZED!

(The natural formula of Sowing and Reaping)

1. First you have to have a seed.

2. You have to cultivate the ground to put the seed into.

3. You have to plant the seed into the cultivated ground.

4. You have to water the seed.

5. You need the warmth and light of the sun.

6. You need time to watch it grow.

YOU MIGHT SAY I HAVE NO SEED… But we serve a SUPERNATURAL GOD!

And God who provides seed for the sower and bread for eating will also provide and multiply your resources for sowing and increase the fruits of your righteousness, which manifests itself in active goodness, kindness, and charity. 2 Cor 9:10

SUPERNATURAL ABUNDANCE AND FRUIT IS OURS!

Behold, the days are coming says the Lord, that the plow-man shall overtake the reaper, and the treader of grapes him who sows the seed; and the mountains shall drop sweet wine and all the hills shall melt, that is, everything heretofore barren and unfruitful shall overflow with spiritual blessing. Amos 9:13

HAVING FAITH IS A SOWING UNTO RIGHTEOUSNESS!

For in the Gospel a righteousness which God ascribes is revealed, both springing from faith and leading to faith, disclosed through the way of faith that arouses to more faith. As it is written, the man who through faith is just and upright shall live and shall live by faith. Romans 1:17

In Romans 4:21-24 Abrahams faith was accredited to him as righteousness…  24. Righteousness will be granted and credited to us also who believe!

LET US SOW UNTO PRAYER AND REAP MIRACLES!  ! LET US SOW LOVE AND REAP A HARVEST OF LOVE! LET US SOW PEACE AND REEP A HARVEST OF PEACE! LET US SOW UNTO JOY AND REAP A HARVEST OF JOY! LET US SOW FINANCES AND REAP FINANCIAL BLESSING

Let us Sow according to righteousness, according to uprightness and right standing with God, in our daily lives, in our families, at work, in relationships & friendships, and with our time well spent. Everyday is a day of choices, choices for good or evil, choices for good or God’s best. Praise the Lord, let us choose the latter!
