House With No Foundation - Luke 6

Dream: “House With No Foundation”

Luke 6:46-49 Why do you call Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ and do not practice what I tell you? Everyone who comes to Me and listens to My words and obeys them, I will show you whom he is like: He is like a [far-sighted, practical, and sensible] man building a house, who dug deep and laid a foundation on the rock; and when a flood occurred, the torrent burst against that house and yet could not shake it, because it had been securely built and founded on the rock. But the one who has [merely] heard and has not practiced [what I say], is like a [foolish] man who built a house on the ground without any foundation, and the torrent burst against it; and it immediately collapsed, and the ruin of that house was great.”

Hello Everyone, I awoke a few days ago with a powerful dream embedded into to mind and spirit. I want to share the dream here with you. I feel this dream has spiritual meaning. It was so vivid, so real and so heartbreaking...

I dreamt there was a very massive house, so large it was about 5 or 6 times the size of our house, and that's big, because anyone thats been to our house say, "you guys have such a big house"! Anyway, in my dream my husband was suppose to be helping build a home but for whatever reason he didn't feel to be a part of it, although we had come to look at it after being asked to help. As we were standing a great distance away all the sudden the loudest sounds of snapping and rumbling began to take place and we could see each 2x4 beginning to snap right in half and the house began to come down, section by section this massive home was destroyed, one section would go down and then you would think no more was going to be affected, then another section would go down and so on until the entire house was destroyed, the difficult part of watching this seen of horror was the men that were on the inside didn't have time to get out, you could see them running trying to escape, but they couldn't outrun the destruction of the house, it was too massive and too sudden. Another thing that stuck out in my dream was that they had been building this house for 6 years and it still wasn't completed. At the end of my dream before I woke up, there was a woman that shook her head and said, the house went down because the house had no foundation. Under each doorway the thresholds were missing.

After I got up I spent some time in prayer and the Lord gave me a poem called The Race

After sharing this in a blog, I had a major response from my readers as to what the Lord had shown me. I also shared the dream I had at our local church. So I just want to recap on it as some have asked if the interpretation came for what I wrote. And yes I believe the Lord has revealed to us the meaning behind the dream. I believe the Lord also took it and ministered awakening to many others relating to their own lives.

Firstly, I'll share that the dream jolted me to my core as to what my own foundation was being built upon. If our lives are not being built upon the Word of the God we have not footings, no foundation that will last in the coming hour that is to be revealed upon the earth. So I would have to say this has impacted me the most from having that experience. Our foundation must be founded upon the Word. In a practical sense, this has been making me dig deeper into the scriptures.

I had the dream on a Thurs night in July, by that Sunday morning a dear friend of mine from Virginia that I haven't seen since we were teenagers messaged me and felt her husband whom the Lord has used many times to interpret dreams by the Holy Spirit would interpret my dream. I want to post his response here as he wrote it to me, however I will leave out the more personal details he shared with us. But I will share the broader message that he felt he received from the Lord as I feel it shows a picture of the church as a whole.

Dream Interpretation:

Sunday, July 19, 2015 10:07 PM      by Charles Walker

On Friday evening, July 10th my wife, Sarah approached me and said that you were a friend from childhood and that you recently had a dream and Sarah said she felt confident that I would have an interpretation for you. I shied away from it initially because I hear so many people that claim to have a dream or vision from God and there are either A. no markers that would classify it as a God given dream or worse B. they're wanting an interpretation to fit their own expectations or desires. However Sarah assured me that you came from a long line of prophetically gifted and were of extremely high character dedicated to ministry so I thought I should at least look at it. Immediately I sensed urgency in your writing that gave me a sense of compassion so immediately I prayed, "God is this dream from you and if so what are you trying to say?" Sometimes it can take me awhile to dissect the parts of a dream and view it in the proper light of scripture however this time after praying, without hesitation, I saw the dream unfold like a vision before me.

The only thing that threw me off a bit was the fact that you stated after the dream you spent some time in prayer and that God had given you a word that you felt related to the dream. I said, "God this word seems so unrelated to her dream and kind of like a hodge-podge of a mess. Does this have anything to do with the dream or is Stephanie just grasping at straws?" I felt the Lord respond, "They are related. The dream is the message, the word I gave is her response." Then it clicked and made sense as it will for you also.

(For the record at this point I would like to make clear that I was completely unaware of Stephanie's ministry past or current involvements and it wasn’t until after I spoke the interpretation I was given that she disclosed anything related to personal or ministry life.)

Components of Dream

Large House- this house represents comfort, shelter, food, family, connection. In this case it represents a church that is seeking to provide and meet these needs to the community at large by welcoming people in through various social service ministries.

Abnormal Size- this house was 5-6 times the size of a nice family home. It actually is several houses put together to make one. It represents different churches coming together for one purpose, one common good.

Six Years- This is significant. It is not to be viewed as a literal time frame. It represents the fact that it is not 7. Seven is the number of completion throughout the Bible. Whatever project this is it will not be completed.

Now God Is Going To Show Us Why

Woman Trying To Draw Your Attention- This woman represents the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is grieved and desperately wants to show you something vital.

No Foundation- the Holy Spirit drew your attention to the fact there was no foundation to this house. Our foundation as a Christian, as a church, as a denomination, fellowship or whatever have you must be the Word of God. The Word must be viewed as infallible and inspired. Many of the before mentioned groups have already begun to question and even rewrite Gods Word to fit their own agenda or for fear of offense. These are the groups gathering to build this house.

Doorways- The doorways in this house had no threshold. The threshold is also called the footing. You need firm footing for a threshold or the doorway will collapse. This represents how we call others to follow Jesus. It is the invitation in. Revelation 3:20 "Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and eat with him, and he with me.' For fear of offense many have made a claim to a wide open door open to all without requiring repentance. It is a door open to all but it absolutely requires repentance. To make a claim otherwise removes the firm footing of the gospel. Again this is the theology of the groups wanting to be involved with the building of this house. "From that time on Jesus began to preach, Repent, for the kingdom of heaven has come near. Matthew 4:17

Cracking Timbers- As you gazed at the size of the house and admired what was being built, you heard timbers crack. This was scary, devastating and sad. Again this is not a work that will be finished and you will be there to watch its demise.

Man Inside- Inside you saw a man crying for help. He represents 2 types of people. First, the ones who entered through the door with no footing. At some point they were desperately seeking God and wanting answers. They accepted and believed the false gospel but it's no good for them and will give no relief. Now they are trapped in a false teaching and have no foundation in God's Word to help them escape. The second person trapped represents the remnant. God always leaves a remnant. Although many denominations and churches have forsaken the infallibility of God's Word and the true gospel that does not mean all of its members have. Many remain because they feel a loyalty to the church and a desire to pray for and become an influence from the inside. The problem is that they are left feeling alone and trapped and as if they have no outside help they feel people are just gazing at them.

Implication

Regional/Global- On a broad scale this dream represents the state of affairs of the current church. Many of those are mainline denominations but it also includes any church or individual seeking to align with an ecumenical, social service only oriented ministry that has turned away from the true gospel and the infallibility of God's Word. The good news is that although this movement seems to be gaining ground and that they are overtaking the true followers of Jesus, they will not prevail. The work will not be completed! 6 years is not 7!

The Race- This is where the word that God gave you during prayer that you titled "The Race" comes into play. It shows us how we, the church, arrived at this junction. It shows us our options for response and gives us hope to persevere and finish. The question we have to ask is, "Where are we in the race?"
