What is Your Assignment?

Did you know that life is full of seasons and assignments from the Lord? Even in the busyness of this Christmas season, I keep hear the whisperings of the Lord in my ears "What is your assignment?". Our Autumn took an unwanted turn for my family as my beloved father in law passed away while they were vacationing in our home in November. At the same time management changes occurred at the Worship and Prayer Barn where I had been ministering for the last nine months. The day before we left for our trip to head to BC for my father in law's funeral, I was packing and praying and I heard these words come up inside, "you've been here nine months, you've learned what I needed you to learn, now your released to go home". Our busy autumn left us little time to get ready for Christmas, but as we have been getting settled back into our home for Christmas I keep hearing the whisperings and tugging of the Lord. I'm reminded of this scripture in Acts 16:9-10. During the night Paul had a vision of a man of Macedonia standing and begging him, “Come over to Macedonia and help us." After Paul had seen the vision, we got up at once and to leave for Macedonia, concluding that God had called us to preach the Gospel to them. God speaks in many ways showing us His way, His plan and His purpose. Do you know what your assignment is? Do you recognize where you are in your season/assignment? There can be many assignments in a season, some assignments are longer than others and vice versa. Maybe you are at the beginning, middle or end of an assignment. I encourage you to ask the Lord how you are doing in your assignment. The ultimate fulfillment will be to one day hear the Father speak these words from His mouth, Well done my good and faithful servant, you were faithful to every assignment I gave you. Even during this busy season of Christmas take time to listen for the whisperings of the Father, He is always speaking... sometimes we are just not always listening. Blessings and Merry Christmas to all!
