God's Anointing Power Through Current Adversity

God’s Anointing Power Through Current Adversity - My Testimony the last couple weeks.

I want to share testimony to God’s anointing power through adversity as we face different situations like the current Covid 19 scare. You may be facing another battle like cancer, or financial defeat or family crisis. Whatever your fight, I declare today that you are surrounded by a mighty host ready to fight your battle with you as you walk in the manifested presence of God.

So Im gonna dive right in. Some of you may wonder why I’ve not had much social media presence the last couple weeks, I have been facing my own battles in the midst of all the craziness that’s been happening in our world. On Friday morning (March 6/20) at 2am I wake up in excruciating pain on my right side. I got up and took some pain killers and went back to sleep till about 3:30am, when I woke up again in so much pain I started throwing up. My husband googled my symptoms and he thought I must have appendicitis! I’m like no man it feels like a kidney stone! (I’ve had 2 other episodes already in my short 41 years.) And I could literally feel the stone moving downward from my kidney. Such excruciating pain! So I waited till about 5:30am and I couldn’t take the pain anymore, I was dry heaving by this time and feeling rather helpless!

We got to the hospital and they rushed me in for X-ray and blood tests, and then eventually a CT scan. My doctor came in with the results and said, “I have bad news, you have a very large kidney stone, you will need to have surgery to get this thing out.” The stone was sitting just above my bladder, the stone had made its way down that far! She said it would be best if your husband drove you to Fredericton, we’ll call and tell them you’re coming. She felt if I waited for an ambulance and a bed I’d be waiting at least another day just to get down there. So they gave me some pain killers and down we drove to Fredericton about an hour away where I could be seen by a urologist.

By about noon that Fri afternoon I got to see a urologist and he’s like we’re completely booked up, you might as well go home and I’ll make an appointment with you in a couple weeks to deal with your stone! My gosh!!!! I was in so much pain! I started crying and I said, “I’m sorry doctor I can’t wait for a couple weeks I am in so much pain, I can’t take it!” He told us how they were booked out straight, there were emergency surgeries that had come in and I wasn’t their priority. Meanwhile, I had several people praying and interceding and talking to God about my situation. So leaving the room the doctor said, “Let me see what I can do!”

While the doc leaves, my sister messaged me and encouraged us, so many people were praying! She said lay your hands on your belly and pray in tongues. My husband and I did this for about 30 minutes. The presence of God filled my hospital room and I heard the Spirit say get up and dance before me. We had the song Waymaker playing on my phone. Sometimes when God tells me to do sometimes embarrassing things or out of the ordinary, I will protest in my head for a bit, but generally He knows I’ll give in! So I stood up and just began to dance before the Lord. As I did this, all the pain left me and the presence of God was so strong I began to weep as the Lord filled my body with His presence. Near the end of the song the doctor walked back in and said we’re gonna keep you here till we can fit you in either tonight or first thing in the morning! A glimmer of light and hope filled my heart as the physical situation began to turn around!

The next several hours turned into more excruciating pain and dry heaving. I wasn’t allowed to have water or even ice cubes, because I could be going into surgery any moment. So I began to feel very dehydrated on top of the pain of the stone. By 9am on Sat morning I was finally taken in for surgery, and in my urologists words to my husband with a chuckle, “The stone was massive! I have no idea how it got down that far!” It showed up on the CT scan as an 8.6 but it was likely more like a 9 or 10 millimetre stone!

What I find incredible in the midst of the storm is the keeping power of the presence of God! There are times when people experience instantaneous miracles, but what I experienced that weekend was an overwhelming I will never leave you nor forsake you. Everyone’s journey is different. God isn’t a cookie cutter God. He works as He sees fit and I trust His sovereignty! There have been times when we as a family have experienced instantaneous healings. I have referred so many times to my grandmother being healed of terminal cancer instantaneously in a prayer meeting! The cancer literally came out of her body and materialized in her undergarments proving that she was healed, and she lived for another 40 some years. My mom was healed of a tumour in her womb. When the doctors opened her up the tumour was gone! Actually my first kidney stone I ever had had also made its way about half way down and got stuck, I remember my Aunt Shirley had prayed that God would crush that stone! And He certainly did, I passed the stone on my own and it came out in tiny little pieces.

I don’t know why God didn’t crush my stone this time, but I do know His amazing grace was all over me through my experience. His presence was in me and all about me and he worked out every detail for me to get through that experience and speed up the process for my surgery. I hope my story will encourage someone today to press into the presence of God. Whether you’re facing a mountain or a mole hill, God is greater than all. And especially through these times of uncertainty and the Covid 19, abide under the shadow of the Almighty friends. Love to you all!
